Hi,

In the supporting excel file of webinar-8, to compute the Lysmer-Kuhlemeyer Dashpot's damping coefficients, these formulae are used:

C_v= element_size * density_of_soil*P_wave_velocity_of_soil
and
C_h=element_size * density_of_soil*S_wave_velocity_of_soil

Can you please share any reference ...

Actually i am modelling soil vibrations induced by moving underground train. so, in my case, P-waves should be considered or it's not so much unrealistic to use maximum shear wave velocity instead of P-wave, to save ...

but why mesh_size/shear_wave_velocity?

why we are not using maximum wave velocity in the model, which is of course P-wave velocity, not shear wave's velocity?

CFL says, we should select a time interval in which, vibration information travels a distance less than the ...
