Wall buckling

Post by Sadegh » Mon Oct 21, 2024 1:27 pm

Hi,
I wanted to ask how I can model a masonry wall which is under geometric nonlinearity like buckling?
Thank you,

If you can model it with shell elements, you can use the ASDShellQ4 or ASDShellT3 using the Corotational Kinematics.

Also, is there a way to consider buckling for the solid element at opensees too? I mean without the shell which is a 2d...

For solid elements, large displacement formulation is not available in stdBrick or tetrahedron elements.
