Hello everyone!
I modelled a speciment of infill masonry wall in STKO. On this I want to apply a cyclic analysis (with two cycles actually). So, I built the model with a specific interaction that can simulate the applied load (you can see this in attached .sdc file). Regarding the material, I used DamageTC3D for masonry and ASDConcrete3D for the frame. I modelled in 3d because I want to study the out-of-plane behavior.
The problem is that the computational cost is very big because during the analysis there are many serious problems of convergence(you can see the plot curve and analysis text in the attached files). We are talking about hours and hours of analysis and many times you can not complete it.
Are there any options in the analysis setting that allow to reduce these problems of convergence? Or changes I can make on the model? Or other solutions to make the analysis faster?
Thank you very much for your answer!
Giovanni

Re: convergence problem with cyclic analysis
Can you try with:
- Use a 0-norm in the test command, because you have a very fine mesh
- Try penalty with 1.0e14 as constraint handler (probably the transformation will take more time in this fine mesh)
