Non convergence problem during excavation stage

Post by BuuNguyen » Mon Nov 04, 2024 8:06 am

Hi STKO team,

I performed a numerical analysis by excavation of the basement wall and retaining wall. But I got a non-convergence during the excavation stage (Stage #3).

I attached the .scd file. Please check it and find the problem.
Thank you for your support,
Buu

The error says that the matrix is singular.

If you add a record command just after the removal you will see the issue:

Since you used the automatic version of the absorbing boundary, the absorbing boundary elements will be extruded at run-time while writing the tcl file. This means that the STKO's selection sets is not aware of those extra nodes.
In face those are not removed.

The solution would be to use the manual version of the absorbing boundaries, so that you can put them in the selection sets.
