In my model I defined absorbing properties (ASDAAbsrobingBoundary3Dmaterial) and absorbing element (ASDAbsorbingBoundary3DAuto) and activated the condition in the Analysis steps (ASDAbsorbingBoundaryActivate) following the ASDAbsorbingBoundary video tutorial.
However when trying to run the analysis, the following error pops up when writing the geometry (see attached image)
This error only appears in a model with fixed boundaries, which I modified.
When I create a new model with absorbing boundaries, there are no issues when writing the input files.
Thank you very much for your help.

ASD Absorbing Boundary error when writing input files
Re: ASD Absorbing Boundary error when writing input files
This happens when the geometry of the boundary is not regular, and the automation to fine which boundary an element belongs to does not work.
If you share your model we can have a look

Re: ASD Absorbing Boundary error when writing input files
Thank you for the prompt reply.
Please find the model attached.
I am aware that the extension of the soil domain and element size might not be appropriate for the current wavelet I am using. However, as of now, I am only focused on the issue related to writing the input files.
Thank you very much for your help.

Re: ASD Absorbing Boundary error when writing input files
Found the issue.
Your bottom face does not lie exactly on a plane. There is an error (round-off) between the bottom nodes of 1.0e-5.
However, we were using a too-strict tolerance in the current STKO version. Now we relaxed that tolerance to allow round-off errors like this.
Please, unzip this and copy the 2 python files in your STKO installation folder in:
C:\Program Files\STKO\external_solvers\opensees\element_properties\absorbingBoundaries

Re: ASD Absorbing Boundary error when writing input files
The updated python files worked perfectly.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Re: ASD Absorbing Boundary error when writing input files
You're welcome.
Those new files will be available for everyone in the next STKO release
