Converge issue during URM OOP analysis

Post by kesavapraba » Sat Feb 20, 2021 9:35 am

Dear Sir/Madam
I was trying to micro-model a simple (990 mm x 1000 m x 190 mm) URM wall by referring your youtube video in the following link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m65mJq6 ... e=youtu.be

Material properties for brick and mortar and boundary conditions and analysis parameters are same as demonstrated in the video tutorial. It works fine in gravity vertical load analysis, however, during OOP analysis (faceforce+displacement control), once I reach the step beyond 10 to 15 (I also played around Tol, algorithm etc) the issue of convergence appears and analysis stops! I worked this model in STKO 2.0 version. I attach the screenshot of the error and model files below. How could I possibly come across this issue? Kindly help me to get rid of the convergence error. Thank you

After changing the Newton algorithm with Krylov-Newton it works, however your model is showing a transverse shear failure at the bottom bed joint.

Make sure you are properly modeling the boundary condition of the experimental test you are trying to simulate
