For the model :
I am facing this error after running the analysis:i
The modifications I did from my previous drawing was:
1) Corrected all the mesh nodes to form quadrilateral topology.
2) Assigned a shell element for the gable part of the roof.
3) Also, I created a quad mesh for shell MICT4 in walls. And, a tria/ tetra mesh for roof and cgi. But I am slightly confused about assigning the mesh type separately to different elements.
There's a hole in the roof seen after meshing. Is this a glitch or there's something wrong?
Debugging
Re: Debugging
Dear Alok,
There are some other issues I just fixed:
Now it seems to run, not it's just a matter of making sure all the material parameters are correct.
Note that I set up the model for parallel analysis with 8 partitions, change it as needed.
There are some other issues I just fixed:
- fixed non 4-edge surfaces
- changed forceBeamColumn with elasticBeamColumn (since you used Elastic section)
- some beam element without physical property (boundary of roof.. I unassigned them, there should be no element there)
- shell elements had wrong assignment (material instead of section)
- peak strain of stone is too low ( ep > fcp/E)
- fracture energies Gt in both materials are too low for the mesh size used
- Gc in stone is too low
Now it seems to run, not it's just a matter of making sure all the material parameters are correct.
Note that I set up the model for parallel analysis with 8 partitions, change it as needed.
