Modelling multiple rows of reinforcing steel in fiber sections

Post by BorislavTodorov » Wed May 20, 2020 8:48 pm

Hello STKO Team,

Quick question regarding the modelling of fiber sections in the program. I am unable to model more complex rebar schedules such as two or three rows of rebar at the top of a beam, or different sizes of rebar. The line tool in the fiber section modeler does not allow me to place single lines, instead only allowing me to draw closed shapes only.

Is this intended, or did i miss something?

Thanks,
Boris

Dear user,

When you use the line command, it will allow you to create as many lines as you want. Then you have 2 options to stop the command:

1) if you click on the starting point, the resulting poly-line will be closed, so STKO terminates the command
2) if you want to stop the generation of lines at any point, just do a right-click, and you will obtain a single or poly-line with is not closed

So for example if you want to draw a single line from A(0,0) to B(1,0):
  • run the line command
  • click on A(0,0)
  • click on B(1,0)
  • right-click
