ASDAbsorbing boundary reflection at top corner

Dear Stko

I am attempting to use ASDAbsorbing boundary in a 2D soil domain. A Ricker wavelet load was applied to the center of the topmost part of the soil, and the resulting wave propagation vel/acc was recorded at a node at the top right corner.

While I have confirmed that the waves are well absorbed at the bottom and side boundaries, I am experiencing reflected waves at the top ends on both sides corner. In this case, should I additionally attach dashpots at the both sides?

Thank you.

Actually, it's working fine.

First, the LK dashpots work perfectly only if the waves are aligned with the dashpots, otherwise some small reflections are possible.

Second, in your case the reflections that you see at the end of the simulation are of the order of 1.0e-8, while the peak accelerations are 1e-6, so those reflections are much smaller. For a proper animation I would suggest you to fix the min-max values of the color bar to the max-min values of the peak of your simulation. It will make more sense then .
