Dear STKO-Team
I am trying to build a simplified timber frame-shear wall model. The beam units are hinge beams element for articulation, and truss are created in the interior, with the upper truss connected to the beam-column nodes by equalDOF, and the lower truss and column cemented to the bottom.
The centres of the upper and lower truss are connected by a zero-length element, which has a material eigenstructure of Pinching4, to simulate the performance of the internal shear wall.
But the run results show the following problem, what is wrong with my model?
The model does not converge.
The model does not converge.

Re: The model does not converge.
Sorry but from the model I don't quite understand what you are trying to do.
The trusses in the middle are split and I don't understand why.
Also the boundary conditions are strange.
It's better if you draw a sketch of what you want to do before doing the numerical model

Re: The model does not converge.
Thanks for your reply.
I want to simulate the performance of a shear wall using truss and zero length element.
When the frame is subjected to a horizontal force, the truss transfers the force to the zero length element(as an internal spring)
I am attaching my simplified model drawing as an attachment, can you help me to see it?
Thank you very much.
