Dear STKO team:
I am learning your teaching video (Links and interactions between nodes and elements) on Youtube platform. I modelled Equal DOF and Rigid Link interaction. However, the slave point in the Rigid Link interaction did not move. Could you tell me where is wrong in my model? Thanks!!!

Actually is perfectly right.
The difference between the rigid link and the EDOF is that:
  • The equal dof simply sets each slave DOF equal to the same DOF of the master node
  • Instead the rigid link couples the displacement of the slave to both the displacement and rotation of the master
They coincide only if the distance between the slave and the master is 0.

Now in your specific case, the slave of the rigid link does not move, but it's correct! check this equation:

Try to change the value of the rotation and you will see it moving
