Hi, I am new in STKO. I want to model an indentation of a cylinder in soil. Can anyone help me with the contact materials that I should use? Additionally, I need some videos that could help me modeling the problem.
Best Regards JP

Can you post some picture/sketch of what you want to model in detail?

Hello,

The model is a flexible tire laying on granular soil. I attache a picture of the model.

Let's say that achieving that in OpenSees is not super easy now.

1) You need a contact detection algorithm, because the tyre travels in time, and the contact element should be updated at every step. OpenSees does not have such a tool now. We are working on it, but I cannot tell you when it will be ready.

2) Probably you need large deformation (finite strain) which is not available in opensees for solid elements.
