Dear Team,

If I need to change the parameters of my model like dimensions or material properties. Can I change it in the input file generated by STKO?. If yes, then how will my scd file get updated. Because when I open the scd file it has again the same initial properties.

Dear Zeeshanbhat,

STKO interoperability with tcl files do not work like you are expecting. You can change parameters like dimensions and material properties in the tcl file, but they will not automatically sync with the .scd file and you will have to run your model directly in OpenSees.

Those tcl files are necessary to run your model in OpenSees and to quickly produce the model description much faster than by coding it. If you wish to add something to the analysis, you can use the customCommand (Analysis > New > Model > Misc_commands > customCommands) and add a part of script to your model.

But anyway, why don't you prefer to change the model parameters directly in STKO?
