Force Response History of Elastic Sections

Hi;
Is there any way to extract time-force history data from elastic elements? There are only nodes, Gauss points and fiber options in extract data menu.
update: solved this adding a custom recorder command. If there is a more convenient way please share.

Hi,
time history chart refers to a point of the structure. In STKO it's possible to extract it from nodes, Gauss points and fiber.
Unfortunately results on element-nodes (such as force in elastic beam) are not supported in ExractChartData. We will add it soon. In the meanwhile you can do it, using a general dispBeamElement (so with gauss points) where each section is an Elastic section. In this case you can extract section.force at the gauss points near the beam ends

Hello,
on a similar topic, using STKO v4.0.0, I would like to extract the local (shear) force of a beam element. I am using "Force-Based beam-column" elements, with Standard Integration Types (Lobatto, 5GPs), with Elastic section. While I can visualise the local shear, I cannot extract the data in a tabular form via the postprocessor. Can you please let me know if there is workaround?

Check this option to make the force-beam-column shear-deformable:

Record section.force, and on gauss points you will be able to see and extract the transverse shear.
Note: When the beam is shear-deformable (Timoshenko), shear deformation and force are available at the section level.
When it's not shear-deformable ( Bernoully ), you will only see the shear forces at the element level (force or localForce) due to equilibrium
