Need suggetions regarding the boundary conditions

Post by KaushalPatel » Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:31 pm

Dear STKO Team,

I am trying to validate the cantilever column from "Sezen 2008 - PhD Thesis Seismic_behavior_and_modeling of reinforced concrete building columns". The boundary conditions of the columns are difficult to model. The experimental loading conditions are shown in the attachment. The column is experincing additional moment due to test set up which is tricky to consider in the numerical simulation.

My STKO model and other required details for the modelling are given in the attachement.

Any suggetions regarding how to apply the proper boundary conditions would be very helpful to me.

Thank you.

Regards,
Kaushal Patel

Hi, the application of boundary conditions, especially the vertical actuator loading, in the thesis is unclear. It would be helpful to have a more clarity by contacting the author of the thesis. Thank you.

Yes, the loading protocol is difficult to understand.

Thank you.
