Moving Train Load

I was watching the Get started webinars and there a tcl code was discussed which can simulate A MOVING train load, inserted in STKO.

Can we get that tcl code?

Hi,

I also have to model a moving train over a bridge and was wondering if it also can be done in the STKO preprocessor, since I am new to STKO and don't fully comprehend how to incorporate a tcl script in the preprocessor.

If I am correct there should be a way to record the analysis, place the loads, run the analysis, stop the recording then remove the loads and place them on the next location and record again. This has to be repeated till the end. I have found several codes for OpenSees but I already have a fully working geometry and model on STKO.

I hope you can help me as I am a bit stuck on the moment. Thank you for your help.

Hi, Yes, your requirement can be easily addressed by STKO. There is "customCommand" under "Analysis Steps ->Models -> Misc_Commands " in STKO, which can be used to add TCL script for performing your task. I would suggest you to go through Dr. Scott's page and write your TCL script, as advised in the thread above. I am also copying the link below.

You can also add and remove load pattern in STKO "Analysis Steps" section. Additionally, you can use MPCO recorder to record the results.
