It looks like you assigned a load to a node that belongs to a geometry without any element assigment. If a geometry does not have an Element Property, it will not be translated to an OpenSees element.

How should I assign the horizontal load?
As, as previously said, I am developing the analysis by considering the deformability of the diaphragm.

Are you referring to "How to assign horizontal loads for a pushover if you don't have a rigidDiaphragm"?
It really depends on your structure, and it is not a numerical issue.. it is more a theoretical one

I entered the horizontal load in the following way, but nevertheless it generates an error during the analysis.
Therefore, I am sending you the inherent file.

I've just seen your model,
it is singular because your second geometry (travetti) is detached from the other.

One more question, you are using the SurfaceLoad utility on a shell which is physically modelled... If you model the slab then you need to use the FaceForce, while the SurfaceLoad is applied on a geometric surface when you don't want to model the slab.

What approach do you want to use?

Should i merge the geometry? Also because I can't do it ..

I don't know what kind of approach to use, which one do you suggest? I had thought of applying the seismic forces directly in the lateral nodes of the structure .. tell me which one could be the best.

Thank you

And anyway, if I start the analysis, the analysis error I sent earlier always appears in the image.

Dear user,

here is your model which is working fine now

There were still few errors that we fixed:
  • travetti and main-structure geometries should be merged
  • I had to add a few more construction lines in the merge operations to guarantee a quad mesh
  • Master node geometries should be removed, because you don't have rigidDiaphragms, so those nodes will be unconstrained
  • I added a other constructions lines in the slabs such that their interactions generate a vertex at the center of each floor, where the master nodes were. Just to use it as a monitor for top displacement.
  • beams had a hinge-integration scheme, but now that they are merged with the slab, and therefore meshed, that integration rule is not applicable anymore, so I converted them into distributed (Lobatto) rule with 3 points each one.
Also note that you are doing a pushover in X, but your nodal loads are applied to a face parallel to the X axis, so your model is rotating.. I don't know if this was what you wanted.

Hello, I wanted to ask you how I can visualize the voltages inside the plate elements and how to extract the results.
Also I wanted to ask you if it would be better to lower the joists (travetti) and make them coincide with the upper edge of the plate.
