AutoCAD DXF mesh-lines → STKO structured 3D hexa mesh for soil (annular/sector) + monopile SSI

Hello STKO Team and community,

I’m a PhD researcher working on soil–structure interaction (monopile foundations). I want to model the soil as 3D brick/hexa elements and I want AutoCAD to represent the layout lines (radial + circular divisions of a cylindrical/annular sector), then import into STKO and generate a structured 3D hexa mesh (extruded in depth).
Goal: The hexa mesh lines in STKO should follow my imported radial/circular divisions and keep good mesh quality around the pile.

What I need (step-by-step):
1. Best way to import my AutoCAD layout (DXF/DWG?) and required DXF version/settings.
2. After import, the recommended STKO workflow to convert curves/lines → surfaces/volumes → structured hexa meshing, then extrude into layers (depth).
3. How to control edge divisions/seeds so the final hexa mesh matches the AutoCAD layout.
4. Best practice to keep the mesh compatible near the pile and at the soil–pile interface.

1. Best way to import my AutoCAD layout (DXF/DWG?) and required DXF version/settings.
Export it in a format that can be imported by STKO (IGES or STEP)
2. After import, the recommended STKO workflow to convert curves/lines → surfaces/volumes → structured hexa meshing, then extrude into layers (depth).
FaceFromPlanarCurves -> Extrude (or Sweep)
3. How to control edge divisions/seeds so the final hexa mesh matches the AutoCAD layout.
In the mesh tab you can find all tools to set global(or local) seeds
