Hello STKO team,
Thank you for this forum to help out the researchers in their modelling.
I am modelling soil vibrations induced by moving underground trains. I have figured out most of the steps involved to model the problem like moving train load etc. , using STKO interface and then by editing input files generated by it.
But I am struggling with the modelling of the track system. I am following an analytical model in the literature and it's parameters to have FEM in STKO (For validation once completed), which has a slab, that is connecting the track with the tunnel invert (by continuous slab bearings for which normal and shear stiffness is given) and a pair of rails which are connected to the slab by rail pads (with a given normal stiffness value).
The problem is, how can I model the slab and the rails in STKO, with given values of flexural rigidity (vertical and horizontal), torsional rigidity and polar moment of inertia.(both rails and slab are considered Euler Bernoulli beams and I don't have the cross section of rails and slab.).
I tried to find out any possible material/section/element combination in which i can use these given parameters and model the track system but I couldn't find any.
Can you please suggest me, Which elements and material/section I can use to model them, with these known parameters?
I have attached a simple geometry of the model for your understanding of what I want to achieve!
Thank you in Advance!
