Unfortunately I cannot make the orthotropic material work. As you said if I put the same properties it should yield the same results but is not working.

The error I get is attached.
If in the layeredshell element I put the DamageTC3D materials it works (monotonic and cyclic). But the moment I change to orthotropic+PlateFiber stops working.

The file I'm using is the same you sent me on the 4th of Nov.

Any help will be appreciated

How did you set up the orthotropic wrapper?

I would suggest you to keep the elasticity part isotropic and scale only the shear strength so that it will break in shear very soon (for a very small shear stress).
Upon damage, the shear modulus will decrease accordingly G = (1-d)*G0...

This is what I would use for a source material with E = 30000, v = 0.2 and ft = 3 Mpa.
If I want to make the shear strength 100 less then the original one:

Dear Francesca,

After introducing the modification you suggested to reduce the shear capacity I still get the same error (see figure attached)

It cannot run the vertical analysis, since it fails to converge in the first increment of the vertical load application.

Any suggestion of what can I try now?

I attached the file just in case it helps.

We found a bug in compatibility between the Orthotropic Wrapper and the Plate Wrapper... Sorry for the inconvenience. We will fix it in the next few days and let you know.

Dear STKo Team

Following the topic of modelling the in-plane response of a strengthened shear wall, I'm modelling the TRM layer as strips of Truss Elements (with fiber sections) embedded in the solid that is the Masonry (with the interaction Node To Element links). If I understood correctly, the truss elements should not be discretized, It should have 1 division only, right?.
( the idea is to create vertical truss strips and horizontal ones covering the whole surface in both faces, but before doing anything else I try on one face with the vertical truss)

As physical properties, I created a Fiber section (with a uniaxial material Damage TC1D) and assign it to a special_purpose.truss. The element property is a truss_elements.truss.

The problem is that when I run it I cannot see any result in the truss, the section.fiber.damage is always zero (see picture attached).

I don't know if I'm failing at creating the interaction of the trusses with the solid or if it is the meshing or sth else.
I attached also the scd file so you can take a look and help me with this issue.
