static analysis error

Post by Yulu Liu » Tue Nov 19, 2019 3:24 pm

I am running the static analysis.
My model uses special purpose_beamsectionproperty with fibre section.
The error is shown in the photo attached.
What does it means please?

Dear Yulu Liu,

that error is saying that the flexibility matrix of one of your sections is singular. In case of fiber sections, make sure material properties are properly defined, i.e. non zero Young modulus, strengths, etc...

Hi~
I assign the truss element to one brace, while the all beams and columns are assigned forceBeamColumn element with special_purpose BeamSecionProperty of fiber. When I run the analysis, there comes the error shown as the attached photo. Is there anything wrong? How to make it?
Thank you a lot.

The error is related to some of the truss elements. It looks like you did not assign a special_purpose.truss physical property.

If you still have problems, please send us the .scd file
