PP constraint

Post by nbastias » Tue Apr 09, 2024 2:15 pm

Dear STKO team,

I am performing a dynamic analysis of a slope considering pore pressure generation through SSPquadUP elements. Given the geometry and subsequent meshing, it is not possible to define the PP constraint under the surface. Attached is a figure of the geometry and the approximate location where the PP constraint should be (I also attach .txt with the coordinates of the constraint). Is there any way to address this issue without having to define subsections in the geometry?, this because triangular elements would be generated. I also attach the .scd, thank you in advance.

Best regards

If you don't want to cut the geometry you cannot select that sub-surface to assign the condition.
In this case you can insert a customCommand in which you can write a Tcl script to loop over all nodes and based on their spatial location you can decide whether to assign the condition or not.
