The frame model with infill wall does not converge

Post by wsadwsad » Tue May 30, 2023 6:41 am

Dear STKO team,

I am performing a seismic time history analysis of an RC frame with infill wall. The infill wall is modelled by the twoNodeLink element. The column is divided into three segments to accommodate the placement of the TwoNodeLink element. However, the model is not running, and I am unsure of the cause of the problem.

Thank you for your reply.

there are some issues:
  • the hinged integration cannot have a 0-length plastic hinge (switch to standard lobatto)
  • The material in the 2-node-link is giving convergence issue. try to understand why. Start with a soft elestic material and check if it runs. then try to understand why your material gives issue
