Question about node mass and input ground acceleration data

Dear Team STKO

Hi, I have some questions about node mass and how to input ground acceleration data

I am going to do analyze gravity and gound motion.

First, I have information about node mass and I want to analyze gravity motion based on node mass.

So I input node mass and analyze gravity motion, but I dont know how.

Second, I have gound acceleration data as txt file(it's a little large so can't input one by one) and want to input this data to analyze ground motion. I found groundMotion in Condition Editor and want to input my data but I dont know where I can do that.

Please help me

To assign lumped masses to nodes, or distributed or line/face/solid elements:
  • Condition -> add -> Mass, and choose one of the option there, based on the object you want to assign mass to. For example if you want to apply concentrated masses on vertices, you can choose NodeMass
  • before closing the condition editor, select the entities you want to assign this condition to
For the ground motion:
  • create a "Definition -> timeSeries -> Path"
    • there you can copy-paste your data points.
    • choose a dT
  • Just before the "AnalysesCommand", add the uniform excitation:
  • AnalysisSteps -> Add -> Patterns -> addPattern -> UniformExcitation
    • direction = choose the direction
    • tsTag = choose the previosuly defined timeSeries
