intereface elements

Post by Jenny » Mon Jul 22, 2019 2:13 am

Hi there
I am wondering if there is any specific way to define the zero-length elements between two solid elements. Initially, I was attaching these two elements with a master/slave option and it was working well. However, when I switched to zero-length element, I got an error.

Thanks

Dear Jenny,
Could you describe the error you got?
If you want to define an interface (for example a cohesive interface or a contact condition) between two faces of two separated solids, you have to:
  • create an "Interaction" using the "Node to Node links" type
  • select the master surface
  • right click
  • select the slave surface
  • right click
Then you simply need to assign to this condition a proper physical property and a proper element property. This is the main difference with equal dofs that are instead Conditions.
