Re: invalid type of element - model can't run

The error is clear: You're using an Element Property that requires a 4-node quad mesh, but you assigned it to another mesh type.

If you right-click on the Element Property and click Select, you will see that you assigned it to the edges (2-node elements) instead of the face!

Re: load problem

If you mean how to add a couple, condition->load->nodeCouple.
Otherwise be more specific

Re: Analysis in plastice stage for elastoplastic material

It's correct.
You can still add extra loads after the plastic stage. They simply do it in the elastic stage otherwise the material won't converge properly in the plastic regime if there is no initial pressure

Re: Add bodyforce

A FaceForce is a pressure F/L^2, so yes, you can compute it as self-weight (F/L^3) times the thickness

Re: Interaction between the shell and elasticbeamcolumn element

It's because the interaction between the shell and the frame is not complete. If I understood correctly, you defined a Pinching4 material that should represent the shear behavior of nails. If this is true, you assigned it to the 1st direction of the zero-length. But you have to ensure the interactio...

Re: STKO Opening error

Let's see if something corrupted the registry entry for STKO. Try the following steps: Type regedit in the Windows search bar and open the System Registry A1.png Navigate to the STKO entry and remove it. The close the registry A2.png Finally go to C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\ASDEA Software Technolog...

Re: Analysis in plastice stage for elastoplastic material

This aspect of OpenSees is a bit confusing.
Some materials for soils need to have an initial pressure to work well without singularities in the plastic regime.
That's why in many examples you see a first load in the elastic regime (to sey up the initial conditions) and then a switch to plastic state.

Re: Add bodyforce

Yes some elements have the body force as input.
But not all of them, that's why in STKO we developed utilities such as VoulumeForce, FaceForce, EdgeForce... to provide for distributed forces where not available in OpenSees
