Re: Question about analyses command

If you do just 1 analysis it does not make any difference.
In terms of results it does not make any difference either.
It is only used by the MPCO Recorder to separate each analysis into different model stages

Re: How to resolve this error?

The problem is that you assigned an Element Property (8 nodes) onto a surface with 9 nodes. When you do the element/property assignment, go to sub-selection and make sure to select only the entities that are correct for that element (in this case the volumes). Another issue was that your element is ...

Ok, so if you send me a list of value that you want to parametrize I will create a Python script you can start working with

Re: Pushover analysis error

Dear user, here is your model which is working fine now Esempio 3.1.scd.zip There were still few errors that we fixed: travetti and main-structure geometries should be merged I had to add a few more construction lines in the merge operations to guarantee a quad mesh Master node geometries should be ...

Re: RC SHEAR WALL

Dear user, The main error that leads to non-convergence is that you were using Penalty Constraint Handler with Norm Unbalance Test. This combination does not work, because the Penalty handler puts very high value in the Unbalance vector to impose the constraints, and so it will never go to zero. Oth...

Re: Pinned Connection

Ok, so let us know if you have troubles using the HingedBeam automation. Basically, it is the same we use for lumped plasticity, but instead of using nonlinear-moment-rotation uniaxial laws in local Ry/Rz DOFs, you can use a soft or null elastic material. You can look at our webinar about lumped pla...

Re: Question about finding an error

Sometimes we've experienced this error in OpenSeesSP and/or OpenSeesMP. If you look closely, you will notice that the cut you see there, corresponds to the borders of your partitions... don't know why it happens sometimes with large models, but it's somehow related to the constraint handler: Transfo...

Re: Pushover analysis error

I've just seen your model, it is singular because your second geometry (travetti) is detached from the other. One more question, you are using the SurfaceLoad utility on a shell which is physically modelled... If you model the slab then you need to use the FaceForce, while the SurfaceLoad is applied...

Re: OOP Micromodeling of Masonry Wall

Actually it's quite hard to explain... The original implementation of the ShellMITC4 had a full integration for the drilling DOF (rotational dof about the shell normal axis). This full integration leads to overstiffening of membrane behavior and prevents strain localization. As a small workaround, w...
