Re: Modelling infills in RC frame

Dear mmc, I hope you are doing well. I just saw your post now. I will check your model and post a reply soon. However, before that, I want to address some important points. 1) It is true that trusses only work (transfer forces) in three dofs in a 3D domain, being x, y, and z translations. However, t...

Re: Settlement under pullse load (simple model)

Dear TAHMINANAHAR, Your model seems okay. I realized the time step that you are using might be too big. Try running the analysis with a smaller step size. It is a fairly small model, so the overall analysis should be fast anyway. I was able to complete the analysis in a few minutes, just by increasi...

Re: Quad Mesh Topology

Dear Md%20Motiur%20Rahman, In order to have a four-node quadrilateral mesh, you should ensure that all the sub-geometries in the face are four noded. This can be done by drawing guiding lines on the main geometry. Please see the attached figure to see an example that would be suitable for your case....

Re: soil structure interaction

Dear mmc, I was able to download and check your model today. First of all, in terms of beam section editor, it seems like your model is correct. If you have doubts about the unit of section sizes you can check this by switching to the Property tab where you can see the extruded beam sections. In cas...

Re: soil structure interaction

Dear mmc, Regarding the BeamContact3D element, this element is creating contact between a beam element (having 6 dofs) and a solid element (having 3 dofs) which is not compatible with this case if I understand your goal correctly. For connecting solids to solids (solid foundation to solid soil), Zer...

Re: soil structure interaction

Dear mmc, I hope you are doing well. I checked the second model that you have posted. 1) The warning messages at the beginning of the analysis about sp constraints not being applied mean that there are sp constraints (fixes) that have already been applied to those nodes at a previous stage. So, Open...
