Re: Issue with using PDMY model

Dear Youngkyu, we are still working on the development of the script we discussed, it will take a bit more time than we forecasted. It is on top of our list and we will keep you posted as soon as we have progressed. Unfortunately at the moment we cannot provide a definite timeline for when it will b...

Re: Error Analysis : Laterally loaded pile with BNWF

In your fiber section, GJ is 0.
So your beam is singular in torsion.

Re: Error Analysis : Laterally loaded pile with BNWF

Dear user, the analysis error was due to a singularity in your model: The slave nodes should be fixed also in Ry and Rx (you only fixed Rz). Rx should be fixed for imposing a 2D constraint in the XZ plane, as you did in the pile. But the Ry should be fixed because the QY-TZ springs do not offer any ...

Re: mesh type related error

2. For the small time-step, dt of earthquake has been used for the last transient analysis. However, very large time steps have been used for gravity analyses which are conducted as transient. Should I change the type of gravity analysis from transient to static? You can turn them to static. But so...

Re: Question about another geoseismic modeling

when I ran the model with the tolerance of NormDispIncr equal to 1e-8, I got errors many times with adaptive time step, however, with the tolerance equal to 1e-6, I got the error a few times. This is perfectly normal, the more strict is the tolerance, the more iterations OpenSees needs. You just ha...

Re: Boundary condition Shear wall

You're welcome, However, I've also modeled my diagonal compression test on the same masonry sample (same geometry same material) with the initial parameters (the ones that were in the *scd file I provided at the beginning of this chat) and the results are really good compared with the experimental o...
